Pilgrinage in Buenos Aires from April the 25th 2025
The Virgin of Monte Berico begins her pilgrimage around the world in Buenos Aires, Argentina, celebrating the 600th anniversary of her first appearance on Monte Berico on March 7, 1426 to Vincenza Pasini, a seventy-year-old peasant woman, ending the epidemic that was ravaging the region.

This sacred pilgrimage begins on March 7, 2025, in Vicenza, with a celebration at the Loggia del Capitaniato and a procession to the Sanctuary of Monte Berico. From there, the Virgin will visit Buenos Aires Argentina, Brasil, Canada, Sydney, Montreal, and beyond, touching hearts and strengthening bonds of faith and heritage.

Madonna of Monte Berico on her way to Buenos Aires
We prepare for the Marian Jubilee Year and the Year of Rebirth
Before leaving for their new home in Argentina, our parents and grandparents climbed Monte Berico to leave their pains, their sorrows, but also their hopes and promises in the hands of the Madonna.
One year before the official start of the celebrations of the Marian Jubilee Year and the Rebirth, on March 7, 2026, we Vincentians are preparing for the anniversary.
The first appointment will take place on March 7th, an emblematic date because on that day, in 1426, the Virgin Mary appeared for the first time to Vincenza Pasini on the hill of Monte Berico, followed by a second apparition on August 1st, 1428. On those two occasions, the Virgin promised the elderly woman that she would end the plague epidemic after the construction of a church dedicated to her. On August 25th, 1428, under the direction of Bishop Pietro Emiliani, the foundation stone of the church was laid, which was completed in just three months. This building currently houses the presbytery of the current Baroque church.
March 7th is dedicated this year to the «Peregrinatio Mariae» initiative, a journey across the five continents of the reproduction of the Virgin of Monte Berico by Vicentini nel mondo. The journey will pass through many countries and communities around the world, commemorating a story that has become an identity for all Vincentians, a beacon of hope even for those living far from their homeland.
On March 7, 2025, the Virgin departs her long journey, which will end in June 2027, from the Loggia del Capitaniato, the emblem of the municipality that pays homage to an ancient tradition that intertwines the experiences of different generations and classes in a city that, for better or worse, looks toward the Marian hill and its majestic temple. This will include a moment of celebration and a procession to the Sanctuary of Monte Bérico, followed by a moment of prayer with music and poetry.
